Ok, i’m writing this because i woke up to see a very upsetting screenshot that my friend sent me. I believe most of you saw that tumblr post too.
Firstly, popularity doesn’t mean successful. Well you may be popular but does popular really means successful? Honestly speaking, being having a large fandom and being very popular because you are known by alot of person doesn’t exactly means success. And different people have different views about what success exactly is. You may think that they are not succesful but there are people who thinks that they are successful and B.A.P themselves think so too. But they will work harder to bring more success to themselves. And on a note, it’s a fact that B.A.P isn’t popular in korea compared to exo but remember this, B.A.P is recognized on an international level. They have a VERY STRONG INTERNATIONAL FANBASE. And they are in fact one of the group that are successful overseas. Look into the kpop industry and see how many of them are exactly that successful internationally.
Secondly, so what if they didn’t win many / any awards. If they didn’t, tell me how did they actually win all or most of the rookie awards when they first debut? Tell me how they won so much awards in just a short period of time they debuted. Honestly, awards doesn’t really mean anything. Expecially when it is done through voting, it justs shows you how many fans you have. And sometimes it’s not even accurate because of multiple spams one can do. But yes, having an award is a bonus and it does show one that their effort has not gone to waste. And B.A.P doesnt really care about winning. They just want people to listen to their music. On top of that, look at the music chart ranking internationally other than korea, and you will see that B.A.P songs are always in the top.
Thirdly, the fact that they had a world tour and japan arena tour judt proves how successful they are too. Not even talking about the amount of time they needed to do this. Look at this, they spent only one and a half year after debut to conduct a world tour. How was this even possible? Look at other idols and artists some of them could only have their solo concert in korea after two years. It’s not even a world tour tour or what but just one concert in their own country, and how long do you think they need to take if they were to have a worl tour. And if B.A.P wasn’t successful then TS wouldn’t even spend money on them already. No company will ever spend money on something that is not profitable you see. And the fact that TS spends a whole lot of money on B.A.P just shows that how successful TS thinks B.A.P would be and how successful they really are. It really costs alot just by having a concert in one country let alone a world tour where it involves multiple country. Also, look at the venues B.A.P filmed their MVs. Do you still think they are not successful? If B.A.P isn’t successful, then TS would have made a loss and already stopped spending so much on B.A.P. Or should I just say, they wouldn’t have spent the money right from the start. An arena tour right after a world tour, how many can actually do that?
Winning, popularity and successful are three different things. They don’t always come together and they are definitely not the same. And winning is definitely not everything.
And why we like them? The reason is very simple. It’s just the same as to why you like your idols. I like their passion they having for music, i like how talented they are, i like how they are fan pabos, i like their music, i like the unique concept they have, they try out new genres and things we’ve never seen before from them, i like that they always have deep meanings behind every song (this is what you don’t always see), and their performances that make us so attracted to them. And after every performance we watch them grow, mature and learn new things. They go around the world, experiencing new things. Every thing whether big or little makes us attracted to them. I’m sure alot of babyz agree to this.
They worked so hard, practicing and practicing, never thinking that their performance is already very good. It’s always not the best in their eyes and they put in their best efforts in every performance. Even when we think that the performance is 101% they would think its not up to their standards. They want the best for their fans and give the best to their fans. They have worked so hard and now their effort is paying off. I feel so proud to be a BABY, and I would feel it’s no wonder I would stan them. And truthfully speaking, I may support alot of groups, i may be multi fandom, but it’s not that easy for me to stan a group. And B.A.P is the first group that made me stan them till i actually fangirl-ed to a whole new level. They are indeed very special to me. The fact that they made me stan them, goes to show how different they are. They are unique too.
And lastly, the fandom. The BABY fandom is one i loved alot. Because our fans are friendly, nice and we don’t start fanwars unnecessarily (i haven’t met a single fan war that was started by babyz yet, neither fo i want to). And you can say our fans are one of the matured thinking fans. And i can say for sure if they were to be in other bigger companies, they would have been very popular too. But no, i like how they are in TS. I don’t care how many awards they win or whether they are popular in korea or not, i just love them. I just love B.A.P the way they are. They are already conquering the world and just wait for them to continue to do so. I’m sure they will eventually get recognised in korea. And they will conquer the world. That’s one of their goals, and they are always working towards their goals. You will see. And all those who think B.A.P wouldn’t make it will definitely change your mind.
They are not a bunch of sad and pathetic boys. Because they have us. They have TS, secret, their family and most importantly BABYz who love and appreciate every single thing about them and their music. They have much more than winning alone. To us, they are winners.
You may not like a particular group (in this case b.a.p), but you really don’t have to bash them like that. I don’t see a point in bashing other groups.
